Field of activity: Research

SPRINTs claim and aim in the field of research is the creation of new knowledge respectively the extension of existing knowledge and the recipient orientated development of applied recommendations. We don’t understand research as an aim in itself but for the production of scientific based knowledge for application, which can be implemented by our clients.

Our main focus are public funding programmes for regional development. This includes the mainstream funding on national and European level (EU-structural funds, programmes for development of rural areas) as well as pilot projects centred on funding of integrated approaches (e.g. LEADER, Active Regions). Our competences cover the whole cycle of a programme: From setting up the concept to implementation and evaluation.

SPRINT offers many years of conceptual and methodical experience as well as solution oriented innovative methodical approaches of empirical social research within the fields of spatial planning and development as well as regional economy. We act upon the maxim: ”Not the methods determine the research questions, but the research questions must define the choice of methods”. Each project needs an individual approach, which requires a careful analysis and if necessary the specific modification of existing methods.
